Trinidad and Tobago is located on the southeastern tip of the Lesser Antilles, the southwest and northwest facing Venezuela across the sea. It consists of Trinidad & Tobago and 21 small islands. The country covers an area of 5,128 square kilometers and has a population of about 1.4 million. The country is divided into 8 counties, 5 cities, and 1 semi-autonomous region. The Secretariat of ACS is in the Port of Spain that is the capital of Trinidad and Tobago.

In 1498, Columbus discovered Trinidad on the third voyage and landed in MORUGA in the south. Trinidad and Tobago also have the world's largest natural asphalt lake. Trinidad and Tobago maintained sustained economic prosperity and stability in the face of the economic austerity crisis in most countries in the Caribbean. Standard & Poor’s rated the sovereign credit of Trinidad and Tobago at the A level. Since 2013, the per capita GDP has exceeded $20,000.
